What causes spondylolisthesis?
Spondylolisthesis is a big word, but it simply means that one of your vertebrae (the bones in your spine) has slipped out of place. This can happen for a few different reasons:
Wear and tear: As we age, the discs that cushion our vertebrae can wear down, making it easier for the bones to move out of alignment.
Overuse or injury: Repetitive stress on your back, like from sports or certain jobs, can also lead to spondylolisthesis.
* Genetics: Some people are born with thinner bones in their spine, making them more prone to this condition.
It’s important to remember that this information is for general knowledge only. If you’re experiencing back pain or think you might have spondylolisthesis, please see a doctor or spine specialist. They can properly diagnose the cause of your pain and recommend the best treatment plan for you.
