Is it safe to exercise with pain?
It’s great that you’re motivated to exercise! However, it’s important to listen to your body and understand when pain is a warning sign.
Soreness vs. Pain: It’s normal to feel some muscle soreness after exercise, especially if you’re new to it. This soreness usually goes away within a few days. However, sharp, shooting, or stabbing pain during exercise is not normal and could mean an injury.
When to Stop: Stop exercising immediately if you experience any sudden or sharp pain. Don’t try to “push through” it.
* Talk to Your Doctor: If the pain is severe, persistent, or worrisome, it’s crucial to consult with your doctor or a physical therapist. They can help determine the cause of your pain and recommend the best course of action, which might include specific exercises or treatments.
Remember, exercising should make you feel better, not worse! Be kind to your body, and prioritize your health.
